Huang Bai (Phellodendron amurense) is a bitter, cold herb used to clear heat, eliminate toxins, drain dampness, and nourish Yin. Its bioactive compounds—particularly berberine and related alkaloids—provide antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, hypoglycemic, and hepatoprotective effects.
